This K-Pop Group Just Turned Earth, Wind & Fire Into the Ultimate Breakup Anthem for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day may have passed, but while some were busy posting soft-launch couple photos, others embraced bold energy — and maybe threw a little heat toward their ex. BOYNEXTDOOR definitely took that route.

On Monday, February 9, Samyang Foods revealed it was teaming up with the K-pop group for “Hotter Than My EX,” a new worldwide campaign centered around its fan-favorite Buldak ramen. The collab flips the script on the love-filled holiday, spotlighting self-confidence over romance — and it arrives with a fresh musical drop to match.

Per the official press release, “BOYNEXTDOOR’s hit track ‘Earth, Wind & Fire’ has been reimagined as ‘Buldak Hotter Than My EX Ver.’ The members directly participated in writing the new lyrics.” The revamped version is already making waves online, with fans flooding YouTube’s comment section with reactions.

“MOST UNEXPECTED THING FROM BND THESE NEW LYRICS ARE SO FUNNY I CAN’T — I’m Earth, Wind & Fire,” one viewer shared.

“‘hotter than my ex’ lmao i’m sorry i still cant get over it, at this point i feel bad for the ex ngl,” another commented.

“It dropped like a college unannounced assignment But the difference is that I lowkey loved this surprise,” a third fan wrote.

“This is literally Sungho’s dream come true lmao,” someone else added, while another pointed out, “Bro’s mentioned how he liked buldak a few times.”

BOYNEXTDOOR has been on a fast track to the top. The six-member act — Sungho, Riwoo, Jaehyun, Taesan, Leehan, and Woonhak — made their debut in May 2023 under KOZ Entertainment, founded by ZICO and now operating under HYBE.

Less than three years in, they’ve scored five straight entries on the Billboard 200, achieved million-seller status with their EP 19.99, and took home the Grand Performer Award at the 2025 Korea Grand Music Awards. They also completed their first tour, KNOCK ON Vol.1, across Asia last year. Meanwhile, their fanbase, ONEDOOR, continues to expand rapidly, with Spotify showing the group pulling in about 2.7 million monthly listeners.
