Ray J is urging the fan who allegedly snatched his heart monitor during a recent concert to return it.
The singer told TMZ the device was pulled off him while he was in the crowd performing “One Wish” on Valentine’s Day in Shreveport, Louisiana — the same show where viral footage showed him shirtless, wearing the monitor, with what appeared to be blood running down his cheek.
According to Ray J, the specific monitor is crucial because it had been tracking his heart data for the past two weeks. Replacing it would mean starting that data collection from scratch.
“If you have the heart monitor, just let us know how we can get it back, if possible, because I need it for analytics. It’s important,” he said. “If not, they’ll put another heart monitor on me, but I don’t have no data for the past two weeks. So, it affects them prescribing me what I need, or telling me that I need to slow down, or I’m doing great.”
He also pushed back on claims that the monitor was part of a publicity stunt and even offered to pay an undisclosed amount to have it returned.
Ray J was hospitalized last month and treated for pneumonia along with chest pains. According to TMZ, the singer said in a video that a doctor allegedly told him “2027 is definitely a wrap for me.”
After someone off-camera attempted to encourage him with positive words, Ray J went on to reveal that drug use and heavy drinking have reportedly reduced his heart function to just 25 percent.
