Erika Jayne of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is speaking candidly about a previous abusive relationship and how deeply it impacted her mental well-being.
On a recent episode of RHOBH, Jayne had an emotional sit-down with Denise Richards, where the two shared a raw and honest conversation. Richards discussed her relationship with her ex-husband, Aaron Phypers, whom she has accused of domestic violence. She has since secured a restraining order against Phypers.
Jayne expressed that she could relate. While she made it clear she never faced abuse in any of her marriages, she revealed she experienced violence in a more recent relationship, saying it happened “not too long ago.”
She also shared that it wasn’t a one-time incident.
“It had happened more than once, yeah. And then, like, the third time, I was just like, ‘This is not for me,’” she said.
The reality TV star shared that the situation cut even deeper because her son works in law enforcement. Her son, Thomas “Tommy” Zizzo Jr., currently serves as a sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Given his role, Jayne said she felt she had no option but to tell him what had happened.
“I’m just going to say one thing, then I’m going to leave it right here,” she said. “You have no idea how shameful it is to be the mother of a police officer and have to pick up the phone and call 911 and then call your family member and say, ‘I think you should hear this from me first before you hear it from anyone else.’”
Jayne added that she’s thankful that chapter of her life is behind her.
“Look, it stopped at the right time. That’s far and away gone, and it is what it is. Life goes on,” she said.
