Jamie Foxx Calls Out Man Who Used N-Word During Michael B. Jordan’s BAFTAs Presentation, Says He ‘Meant That SH*T’

Jamie Foxx weighed in on the controversy that unfolded at the 79th British Academy Film Awards on Sunday.

Foxx jumped into the conversation by commenting, “nah he meant that shit,” under an Instagram post highlighting the moment when Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were presenting onstage and Tourette’s syndrome activist John Davidson shouted the N-word.

During the ceremony, host Alan Cumming addressed the outbursts, explaining to the crowd that the language was involuntary and linked to Davidson’s disability. Cumming thanked the audience for their patience and later clarified that Tourette’s syndrome can trigger uncontrollable vocal tics.

John Davidson attended as an invited guest and is the subject of a British Academy Film Awards-nominated film based on his life. Reports say he also yelled phrases like “shut the fck up” and “fck you” at different moments during the show. Organizers had already cautioned attendees that involuntary sounds or language could occur throughout the ceremony.

The broadcast moved forward following Cumming’s explanation, and neither Michael B. Jordan nor Delroy Lindo has spoken publicly about the situation.
