Druski and Timothée Chalamet Are Talking About Teaming Up for a Buddy Cop Movie Like “Bad Boys”

Druski revealed that he and Timothée Chalamet have talked about possibly starring in a movie together inspired by the Bad Boys or Rush Hour franchises.

While speaking with Jon Caramanica and Joe Coscarelli on a recent episode of the Popcast podcast, Druski was asked about a standout moment from the Coulda Been Records video he filmed with Chalamet, which dropped in December.

During one part of the audition-style video, Chalamet unexpectedly broke into a bit of Kirk Franklin, catching Druski completely off guard.

Druski explained on Popcast that the entire video was “unscripted,” meaning his reaction to Timothée Chalamet singing Kirk Franklin was completely genuine. He also recalled noticing old photos of the Marty Supreme actor “dressed as Soulja Boy” when he was younger before opening up about the conversations they’ve had since collaborating on the Coulda Been Records video.

“We’ve talked since then multiple times about possibly doing something together like a Bad Boys type film, or something like a Rush Hour,” Druski said about the potential project, which already sounds like a major blockbuster idea. “It’s just an idea right now, but we’ll see what happens. We’ll see. He’s into it.”

Druski went on to share that he and Chalamet — who is nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role at this month’s Oscars — have had “a couple conversations” about what their next move together as a duo could look like.

The classic “buddy cop” action-comedy formula has, of course, been hugely successful over the years. Both Bad Boys and Rush Hour are prime examples of the genre, alongside other notable films and franchises like 48 Hrs., Lethal Weapon, and Ride Along.
