Young Thug Fires Back at Fan Mocking Him for Mourning Lil Keed

Young Thug recently hopped on Twitter to share his grief over the passing of Lil Keed, the late rapper who was signed to Thug’s YSL label.

The Atlanta star has been pretty active on the platform lately, whether he’s addressing his viral video dancing with a fan or reflecting on people he’s lost. On Wednesday (March 4), he took a moment to honor Lil Keed.

“Dam boi this n***a Keed really dead,” Thugger wrote. He later reposted a tweet from a fan explaining who Lil Keed was for those unfamiliar with the artist. “He was known for songs like ‘Nameless’ and his work with Young Thug’s YSL label. Many people felt he still had a lot of potential ahead of him. His music and influence are still remembered by fans,” the post read.

Unfortunately, not everyone responded with sympathy. One Twitter user replied to Thug’s emotional message with a screenshot from The Simpsons showing Mr. Burns handing Lisa a phone and saying, “Here’s a phone. Call somebody who cares.”

The YSL boss didn’t take the comment lightly. Still, Jeffery seemed more surprised than angry when he responded. “Wow bro,” he wrote while quote-tweeting the post.

For those who may not know, Lil Keed passed away at just 24 years old after being hospitalized with stomach and back pain. His death was later linked to eosinophilia, a condition involving an excess of white blood cells that fight allergies and infections. Keed reportedly suffered a seizure and died in 2022, only days before federal authorities arrested Young Thug in connection with the YSL RICO case.

Since then, Young Thug has moved past that legal battle after securing his release through a no contest plea. Still, the loss of his close friend and artist clearly continues to weigh on him, even as some fans choose to respond with trolling comments.

Thugger and Lil Keed worked together on the Slime Language projects along with several other songs, and fans are still hoping more posthumous releases could eventually surface. Despite the years that have passed, Young Thug continues to honor Keed’s memory, making sure his legacy lives on in both big and small ways—even in the face of online mockery.
