Dr. Dre Reportedly Sells Malibu Mansion for Massive Price

Dr. Dre’s former Malibu mansion comes loaded with luxury features, including a private gym, spacious decks, a recording studio, an entertainment area, a sauna, and more.

The hip-hop mogul recently decided to sell his lavish Malibu beachfront home—and walked away with a hefty payday. According to a Zillow listing, the property officially sold on March 3 for an impressive $16.5 million. Dre originally bought the estate back in 2000 for $4.8 million and reportedly put it on the market for $20 million in 2022.

The multi-level property spans three floors and includes standout features like a private gym, recording studio, and outdoor deck. It also offers a wood-burning fireplace, stunning ocean views, a home office, a sauna, and a dedicated entertainment space. Altogether, the home includes six bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

The mansion sits on Carbon Beach—often called Billionaire’s Beach—due to the number of ultra-wealthy residents who own property in the area.

News of Dr. Dre’s property sale arrives shortly after reports surfaced that he recently reached a major financial milestone.

Forbes refreshed its list of the world’s richest people yesterday (March 10), and Dr. Dre made the ranking for the very first time. The outlet estimates his net worth at an impressive $1 billion, placing him at No. 3,332 overall.

With that milestone, Dre now stands as the second-richest hip-hop artist on the list, just behind Jay-Z. He’s also the sixth musician to appear on the ranking and shares the same net worth spot with Beyoncé. His fortune comes from a combination of his legendary music career, his headphone brand, smart investments, and real estate ventures.

Of course, Dr. Dre’s success isn’t just about money right now. The iconic producer also has new music on the way, including a collaboration with T.I. The Atlanta rapper revealed the news during a conversation with AllHipHop over the weekend.

“Dr. Dre blessed me with a record,” he explained. “It happens to have Anderson .Paak on it and a young lady by the name of Stallone. It’s a dope record. It’s called ‘Where I’m From.’ Dope record.”
