Demi Lovato Makes It Clear Shia LaBeouf Doesn’t Make Her Disney Mount Rushmore List: “I’m Good on That One”

Shia LaBeouf isn’t exactly making Demi Lovato’s personal Disney Mount Rushmore—and she didn’t hesitate to make that clear.

During a recent chat on the Chicks in the Office podcast, Lovato—who dropped her It’s Not That Deep album last October—was asked to weigh in after Raven-Symoné’s Mount Rushmore picks went viral. That, of course, opened the door for Lovato to share her own lineup.

“It would definitely be Raven, Hilary [Duff],” Lovato said. “Honestly, I agreed with her answer. So, like, hers definitely resonated. But you have to even go back to the Mickey Mouse Club too, like people that were on Disney Channel prior to everyone I just named. You know, there was Britney [Spears] and Christina [Aguilera].”

The conversation then shifted to whether Disney legends should be ranked by era or across the entire history of the brand. That’s when Lovato was reminded that Raven-Symoné had actually included Shia LaBeouf on her list.

“Um, I’m okay on that one,” Lovato replied. “Yeah, we can pass.”

She also gave props to other Disney standouts like the Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, and Selena Gomez.

Both Demi Lovato and Shia LaBeouf, for context, come from the wider Disney ecosystem. Lovato rose to fame through the Disney Channel, starring in Camp Rock and its sequel, as well as Princess Protection Program alongside Selena Gomez. LaBeouf, on the other hand, built his early career on Disney’s Even Stevens and later appeared in the Disney-backed hit Holes.

In more recent years, LaBeouf—who became a major box office name in the late 2000s with films like Disturbia, the Transformers franchise, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and Eagle Eye—has frequently been in the spotlight for personal controversies.

These include several arrests, one of which reportedly happened earlier this year following an alleged altercation in New Orleans, as well as a 2020 lawsuit filed by his former partner FKA twigs. The case, which accused the Henry Johnson actor of abuse, was settled last year.

“Committed to forging a constructive path forward, we have agreed to settle our case out of court,” read a joint statement from both parties. “While the details of the settlement will remain private, we wish each other personal happiness, professional success and peace in the future.”

As for the New Orleans incident, the situation is still unresolved. LaBeouf is facing a simple battery charge tied to the alleged altercation, which he later addressed in an interview with Andrew Callaghan. A redacted police report from the New Orleans Police Department also claims the 39-year-old used the f-slur “multiple times” during the Mardi Gras-related incident.
