Shakira is taking her record-breaking world tour to Spain in a big way, announcing a three-night residency in Madrid that goes far beyond the typical concert setup.
Scheduled for September 25 through 27, the shows will be held inside a specially designed venue called “Estadio Shakira,” a temporary space created to deliver a fully immersive experience. Set at the Iberdrola Music site in Madrid’s Villaverde district, the custom venue will stretch across several acres and combine music with film, food, literature, and curated exhibits, all centered around the theme Es Latina.
The concept taps into a rising wave of large-scale, artist-led residencies across Europe, giving performers full control over the fan experience. In Shakira’s case, she’s embracing a multi-layered approach — turning her shows into a full cultural moment rather than just a concert.
The residency is part of her ongoing Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which has already broken records. The tour now stands as the highest-grossing by a Hispanic artist, pulling in over $400 million and attracting millions of fans across numerous shows worldwide.
That success has continued at recent stops, including an impressive run in Mexico City where Shakira sold out multiple nights and drew massive crowds. She also staged a free show at Mexico City’s Zócalo, reportedly bringing in around 400,000 attendees.
Before heading to Spain, she’s set to perform at Brazil’s Copacabana Beach, where organizers are expecting close to a million fans — highlighting just how massive this tour has become.
The Madrid residency is shaping up to be a standout moment in the European leg, offering fans a more tailored and immersive experience created specifically for these shows. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on March 27.
