According to WBRZ, the child’s mother and stepfather were switching shifts inside the restaurant when Thomas’s eight-year-old sibling discovered a gun inside the car.
The younger child unintentionally fired the weapon, striking Thomas, who was outside the vehicle playing. She sadly passed away not long after from her injuries.

“I know Baton Rouge love to say all the bad things people do. But I want to be the first to say publicly thanks to NBA YoungBoy and whomever may be a part of his team tonight. As I type this with tears in my eyes my baby Kimani funeral is officially paid for!”
What makes this moment even more touching is that Kimani Thomas was a huge fan of NBA YoungBoy. “I know she dancing her tail off full of joy!” her mother added.
