Woman Accused of Firing Shots at Rihanna’s Home Pleads Not Guilty

The woman accused of opening fire with an AR-style rifle at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills mansion has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including attempted murder, on Wednesday, March 25.

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, 35, entered her plea at Los Angeles Superior Court, according to reports from the Los Angeles Times and FOX 11.

Her public defender had initially submitted a not guilty plea during her first court appearance on March 11, but later withdrew it to delay the arraignment, WESH reported.

The Florida resident is facing one count of attempted murder, 10 felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper.

Ortiz is currently being held on $1.875 million bail and could face a life sentence if convicted.

According to the Associated Press, her attorney requested that bail be reduced to $70,000 based on her financial situation, but the judge denied the request, keeping the original amount in place.

Prosecutors say Ortiz allegedly drove up to the home shared by Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, and their three children on March 8 and began firing a semiautomatic rifle while they were inside.

She is said to have fled the scene before eventually being arrested in Sherman Oaks.

No injuries were reported, but sources previously said that the incident left the singer and beauty mogul deeply shaken.

Ortiz’s motive remains unknown. However, the licensed speech pathologist had reportedly posted cryptic messages on Facebook prior to the incident, including one shared two weeks earlier that read, “Say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me.”
