Justin Timberlake Sets His Sights on a 2028 Las Vegas Strip Residency Deal

Justin Timberlake could be gearing up for a run on the Las Vegas Strip. Just days after body cam footage from his 2024 DUI arrest made headlines again, the singer is now reportedly in talks with MGM and Live Nation for a potential residency set to kick off in 2028.

According to 8 News Now, the former boy band star is being eyed for a residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM, a 5,200-capacity venue that has already welcomed big names like Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, and Usher. The venue has built a reputation as one of the Strip’s go-to spots for established acts looking to deliver a more intimate, hit-packed live show.

The reported negotiations arrive at a slightly awkward time for Justin Timberlake. Earlier this week, edited police bodycam footage from his June 2024 arrest in Sag Harbor, NY surfaced publicly.

In the clip, the singer appeared to struggle during field sobriety tests, even telling officers they were “hard.” At one point, he tried to explain who he was, saying, “It’s hard to explain… I’m Justin Timberlake.”

The footage dropped after his legal team initially tried to block its release before eventually agreeing to a redacted version.

Even with the renewed spotlight on the incident, sources say Timberlake has already moved on and is focused on his next chapter. One insider described the DUI situation as embarrassing but no longer a defining factor in his plans—especially as he eyes a possible residency built around fan favorites like SexyBack, Cry Me a River, and Rock Your Body.

The potential Vegas residency would come after a challenging stretch in his career. His recent Forget Tomorrow World Tour reportedly didn’t gain the momentum expected, and the album tied to it struggled to match the impact of his earlier work. According to reports, any Las Vegas run would likely focus more on his classic hits than newer material.

It’s a playbook other major artists have followed after quieter album cycles. Jennifer Lopez, for instance, shifted toward a Las Vegas residency after her 2024 album and film project underperformed commercially.

She later unveiled a limited run at Caesars Palace, blending both her biggest hits and newer tracks into the show.
