Cardi B is shutting down critics who label her as “dumb.”
The Grammy-winning rapper appeared on the Tuesday (March 31) episode of Aspire with Emma Grede, where she was asked to address a common misconception about herself. Around the 1:20:00 mark of the episode, Cardi opened up about how some people perceive her as “dumb” or an “airhead.”
“Is it because of my accent? But it’s like the best thing ever,” she told Grede.
The Am I the Drama? artist went on to explain that while some people may assume she’s clueless, she’s actually busy mapping out her next business move in her head.
“I’m putting plans together in my head, you talking to me and I’m taking my notes and I’m learning everything,” she added.
The 33-year-old also shared that whenever she wants to truly understand something, she dives deep into it. “When I want it, I have to have it and I will learn it. I’ll study it. I study who’s great at it,” she said.
Cardi even drew a comparison to Kim Kardashian, who Emma Grede co-founded SKIMS with, alongside her husband, Jens Grede.
“People always talk about her accent like, ‘They’re just so valley girls’ and everything, but it’s like, that bitch is very fucking smart,” Cardi said.
The “ErrTime” rapper, who is Dominican-Trinidadian and proudly represents the Bronx, also defended her “multimillion dollar accent” back in 2024 after BIA referenced it on her diss track “Sue Meee?”
“You should be home with your kids ’cause bitch, you speak like second grade,” Bia rapped on the track.
While reposting a fan who labeled the verse as “racist,” Cardi made it clear she has no plans to change the way she speaks.
“I became famous from that just being myself! Then I started making music and became a millionaire out of it,” she said.
Beyond the chatter, Cardi has also shown her range, speaking on everything from hair growth to politics—continuing to prove she’s far from uninformed.
