Diddy Given Another Updated Prison Release Date

Diddy was found guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution during his criminal trial last summer.

The Bad Boy mogul is now set to be released slightly earlier than expected, with his prison release date moved up by 10 days to April 15, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons website. This marks the second adjustment to his release timeline, with a previous update shaving off over a month from his sentence.

Diddy, who was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, is currently serving his time at Fort Dix in New Jersey—a facility he reportedly chose due to its drug rehabilitation programs.

The latest update comes as he continues to pursue his appeal, which he first announced back in December. His legal team argues that the sentence overlooks the claim that the sexual activity referenced in the case was consensual, adding that prosecutors failed to secure convictions on the most serious charges.

Pushing back, prosecutors stated: “According to Combs, the district court should have closed its eyes to how he carried out his Mann Act offenses and abused his victims — violently beating them, threatening them, lying to them and plying them with drugs.”

In a March 13 filing, Diddy’s attorneys called the sentence a “perversion of justice,” pushing for “immediate release and a judgment of acquittal or at least vacate and remand for resentencing.” They are set to present their full argument on April 9.

In other updates, J. Cole recently pulled Diddy back into the spotlight after choosing not to dive into details about their widely talked-about encounter at an MTV VMAs after-party in 2013. He briefly touched on the moment during an appearance on Cam’ron’s Talk With Flee podcast earlier this month.

“We was gone put it out because at that time, me and Puff hadn’t had no problems for years,” he said. “It was cleaned up quick and we was in a good spot. […] And then all the sh*t happened with him, and I was just like, ‘Nah.’ It felt like damn near kicking a man when he’s down. It would have gave the news and the world more ammo.”
