DJ Akademiks Shares Why He’s Concerned About Young Thug

The comments come after Charleston White alleged that Young Thug and his crew confronted him over the weekend.

DJ Akademiks says he’s genuinely concerned about Young Thug following reports of an altercation with Charleston White at Druski’s Coulda Been Love reunion. He shared his thoughts during a recent livestream.

“I’m worried for King Slime,” he said. “The reason I’m concerned is because of who he’s been linking up with. I don’t know who’s Bonnie and who’s Clyde, but it feels like him and Lil Baby are moving like that. And before people say I just don’t like Baby—that’s not it. There have been multiple reports and rumors over the past few weeks suggesting that Young Thug and Lil Baby are moving in a way that feels like they’re back on Bleveland Avenue.”

Akademiks went on to explain that Thug had been focused on a different path after getting out of jail, surrounding himself with business-minded people. However, he believes that’s shifted recently.

“He was moving with businessmen after he got out. He didn’t want to go back. But ever since reconnecting with certain people, it feels like he’s back on bad timing,” he added.

He made it clear he wasn’t trying to accuse anyone of wrongdoing but stressed the importance of accountability.

“I’m not trying to incriminate anybody. I’m just saying, if y’all are the same people who cry when artists get locked up, this is the moment to hold them accountable and encourage a change. If people on the outside can notice certain behavior, then law enforcement probably sees it too.”

The situation between Young Thug and Charleston White spilled onto social media over the weekend, with White claiming that Thug and his crew threatened him. “Young Thug and his goons threatened Unc life and tried to attack him,” he alleged, adding that he plans to take legal action. Thug has not publicly responded to the accusations.

Young Thug was released from jail in 2024 following the YSL RICO case, after spending more than two years behind bars. His release came as part of a plea deal that includes 15 years of probation.
