DaBaby is addressing a viral moment after a fan presented him with a painting of his daughters, making it clear he has strict boundaries when it comes to his kids.
The incident unfolded when an artist approached the rapper outside a nightclub and tried to hand him a portrait of two of his daughters. DaBaby briefly looked at the artwork before walking off and ignoring the fan. After the clip started making rounds online, he spoke on it during a livestream, explaining exactly why the situation didn’t sit right with him.
“Y’all getting on my motherfucking nerves, talking about buddy with this painting of my two daughters,” he said. “First and foremost, I’m not the type of father that… I’m not into grown men discussing my daughters, painting pictures of my daughters, taking pictures of my kids. I don’t play like that.”
He made it clear his reaction wasn’t meant to disrespect the artist, but to protect his children and keep certain lines from being crossed.
“If you play like that, to each his own… but I don’t move like that,” he added. “I’m not accepting no painting of my daughters outside of a nightclub.”
DaBaby doubled down on his stance, making it clear he’s not budging when it comes to protecting his children—no matter what anyone thinks.
“If you feel a way about how far I go to protect them, that ain’t none of my concern,” he said.
Things escalated further after a screenshot of their exchange started circulating online. It showed DaBaby responding directly to the artist on Instagram under a post about the painting, urging him to take down any images of his kids and warning him not to use them as a way to “go viral.”
