Pooh Shiesty has reportedly been arrested over serious allegations involving Gucci Mane, with claims that he kidnapped and robbed the rapper in an attempt to break free from his 1017 contract.
According to reports, Pooh Shiesty was taken into custody last week at his family home in Dallas, Texas. He’s now facing robbery and kidnapping charges, alongside several associates. Authorities allege the group carried out a “coordinated armed takeover,” posing as a meeting tied to his deal with Gucci Mane’s 1017 label. It’s claimed that during the incident, a gun was held to a victim’s head, forcing them to sign a release.
His attorney, John Helms, addressed the situation following the arrest, pushing back on the narrative. “The government tries to characterize this as a dispute over money between Lontrell and his record label, but in this business, things are very often not what they seem, and people’s motivations are very often not what they seem,” he said.
The situation has sparked strong reactions online, with many fans now turning on Gucci Mane amid claims that he allegedly “snitched” on Pooh Shiesty. In a clip shared by No Jumper, an Atlanta inmate is seen tossing his copy of Gucci Mane’s book, Episodes: The Diary of a Recovering Mad Man, over a ledge—making it clear he’s no longer backing the rapper following the controversy.
The clip dropped shortly after DJ Akademiks weighed in on the situation, sharing that if he were in Gucci Mane’s position, he would also point out those allegedly involved in the kidnapping.
“They all identified Wright [Big30’s real last name],” he said. “So, I’m going to be honest here. It appears that all of these guys cooperated and identified these people as being ‘present during the offense.’ Gucci and the cameraman identified his Instagram account as @Ceobig30. So, with all due respect here. No diss to Gucci, I love you, Gucci. Don’t know if you’re taking the stand. But Gucci’s doing the identification.”
“He’s doing what I would do,” he added. “I ain’t gon’ lie, I’ll drop a dime on a n**a, bruh. Yo, that n**a live right here. ‘This is his girl right here?’ Yeah. ‘He f**ing this side b**h over here?’ Yup, yup. So shoutout to Gucci. So Gucci identified… Yo, this is crazy. I need a drink, man. Atlanta wilding right now.”
