PayPal Backs Out Of Wireless Festival Following Kanye West Booking

Kanye West is locked in to headline all three days of London’s Wireless Festival this July—and not everyone involved is on board with the decision.

Over the years, Kanye West has been no stranger to controversy, but that hasn’t slowed down his return to major stages. Just last month, it was revealed that the Grammy-winning artist will take center stage across all three days of the highly anticipated festival.

The announcement has sparked divided opinions among fans and critics alike. Even Keir Starmer weighed in, making it clear he does not support the move given Kanye’s history of offensive remarks.

“It is deeply concerning Kanye West has been booked to perform at Wireless despite his previous antisemitic remarks and celebration of Nazism,” Starmer told The Sun. “Antisemitism in any form is abhorrent and must be confronted firmly wherever it appears. Everyone has a responsibility to ensure Britain is a place where Jewish people feel safe.”

Brands have quickly started pulling away from Wireless Festival following Kanye West’s headlining announcement. Major names like Pepsi and Rockstar Energy have already stepped back from their sponsorship deals, along with Diageo. Now, another big player has joined the list, as PayPal reportedly removes its branding from all festival promotions, according to ITV News.

The growing backlash arrives just as Kanye West dropped his latest album, BULLY, which made a strong debut—moving 152K album-equivalent units in its first week and landing at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

On top of that, Ye recently shut down SoFi Stadium with two back-to-back performances last week. The shows reportedly pulled in an incredible $33 million, setting new records for both ticket sales and the highest-grossing event ever at the venue.
