Authorities claim Lil Tjay sparked a confrontation that ultimately led to one of his associates shooting Offset.
According to a probable cause affidavit obtained by TMZ, police allege that around 7:22 PM ET on Monday (April 6), Tjay “directed members of his party to start a fight with another group of males” at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
Investigators say that during the altercation, one of Tjay’s associates pulled out a firearm and opened fire, leaving Offset injured.
The documents also reportedly state that officers reviewed surveillance footage showing Lil Tjay exiting his vehicle, identifying Offset, and leading his group toward him before the fight erupted. Authorities further claim Tjay recorded the incident on his phone.
The clash between Tjay’s group and Offset’s associates allegedly continued until police intervened.
Lil Tjay was taken into custody and booked into Broward County Jail on a misdemeanor disorderly conduct-affray charge before being released on Tuesday (April 7). He has denied any involvement in the shooting of the former Migos rapper, referred to Offset as a rat, and said he would “smack the shit” out of him.
Offset is still recovering at a local hospital, though he was reportedly well enough to be taken outside in a wheelchair for a cigarette.
