Alexa Demie has built a reputation for keeping her personal life low-key, which only makes fans more curious about who she really is off-screen. On Euphoria, her bold and unpredictable character Maddy Perez is known for causing chaos and speaking her mind—no matter the consequences.
As it turns out, Demie isn’t all that different. The 35-year-old actress admitted she shares some of Maddy’s traits and has even faced backlash for it in real life.
“You know, I’ve gotten in trouble for it,” she revealed during an interview with Extra TV at the LA premiere of season 3 on April 7, when asked how much she relates to her character. “So I think I put it away a little bit, but through her I can say it all.”
Maddy’s storyline in season 3 takes a noticeable turn, showing just how much the character has evolved since the earlier seasons. “It’s about five years later, and she’s working in Hollywood,” Alexa Demie shared with Extra TV. “She’s working under a very prominent Hollywood talent manager, representing talent, actors, influencers… and some other things that I won’t spill.”
From the trailer of Euphoria season 3, it looks like Nate and Cassie are heading toward a wedding storyline. Naturally, fans are already wondering how that might impact Maddy emotionally. Even more surprising, the preview hints at Maddy and Cassie possibly mending their friendship—leaving viewers questioning whether Maddy is playing the long game or genuinely moving on from the betrayal back in high school.
