Joel Osteen Shares His Reaction to Druski’s Viral Megachurch Skit: “I Thought It Was Funny”

Joel Osteen is tapped in when it comes to Druski.

The pastor recently appeared on Impaulsive podcast, where Logan Paul asked if he had caught Druski’s viral megachurch skit—and what he thought about it.

“Well, it was funny, you know? He’s making fun of it. I just thought it was funny. That was funny, but it’s a megachurch because we’re big. But here’s the thing. I think this is interesting,” Osteen said at the 52:00 minute mark.

“We never set out to build a big church. That was never really the mission—it was always about helping people,” Joel Osteen explained. “My parents started with just 90 people back in 1959. I grew up in that small church—I knew everyone until I was about 10, and it was still around 90 members. By the time my dad passed, it had grown into thousands. But again, the intention was never to be large. We just didn’t want to turn anyone away, so we kept making space. The focus wasn’t on size—it was on making an impact.”

Back in January, Druski dropped a new skit poking fun at megachurch pastors who take advantage of people’s faith for profit. In the clip, he steps into the role of an over-the-top, flashy pastor—literally hovering above the congregation while suspended by wires.

“I’m going to have Wanda stand up here,” he says at one point, gesturing to an elderly woman seated up front. “Wanda told us earlier this month that she cannot have a baby anymore, so I impregnated her with the word of God. I’m going to impregnate everyone with the word of God!”

Elsewhere in his chat on Impaulsive podcast, Joel Osteen, 63, opened up about the $100M renovation of Lakewood Church, where he serves as senior pastor. He also spoke on how his outlook on Christianity differs from his father’s.

“My dad was taught that to be holy or to be a Christian, you had to be poor and think in a defeated way. That was the mindset back then,” Osteen said at the 1:11:00 mark. “I see it differently… it cost a hundred million dollars to renovate this place. I can’t approach that with a mindset of, ‘Oh, we’re not supposed to have anything.’

“I have to believe that God wants to bless you and your business. I pray every day for the people who give and support—God, let their gifts and talents come forward. Open doors for opportunities, contracts, and the right connections.”
