Cardi B Shuts Down Claims She Bought Herself Gifts and Credited Offset

Cardi B has shut down claims that she was buying herself luxury bags and pretending they were gifts from her ex-husband Offset.

The “Am I the Drama?” rapper addressed the rumors on Saturday (April 11), responding to a post on X that featured a clip of her opening a Birkin bag allegedly gifted by Offset and celebrating the moment. The original post read, “So Cardi was buying her own bags this while time and letting y’all think Offset was spoiling her??”

Cardi quickly clapped back, saying she’s “never the type to do lame shit like that.” She also added, “There was no money problems when I was regulating,” making it clear she wasn’t putting on a front.

While Cardi B has built a highly successful career over nearly a decade in the spotlight, Offset is currently dealing with legal and financial issues, including a lawsuit over an alleged $100,000 casino debt tied to MotorCity Casino Hotel.

According to reports, the former Migos rapper opened a $100,000 credit line in 2024, but when the casino attempted to withdraw the funds, the transaction reportedly failed due to insufficient funds. A spokesperson later shared that Offset is “working toward a resolution” with the casino.

Things escalated further on Monday (April 6), when Offset was shot in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Lil Tjay later called him a “rat” amid allegations that he was connected to the incident—claims that were denied by his attorney, Dawn Florio.

Offset has also been publicly called out by Dez Bryant and Ebro Darden over claims that he owes them money from past bets.

Cardi B and Offset, who share three children, tied the knot in 2017 before separating in 2023. Last year, Cardi welcomed a baby boy with Stefon Diggs, while Offset is reportedly seeking a paternity test for the four-month-old.
