After receiving some love from Meek Mill, Swae Lee is clearly feeling confident—so much so that he’s calling himself the next Michael Jackson.
Not long after his recent Coachella performance, Meek showed support by posting, “Swae Lee don’t get enough credit!!!!”
Lee fired back with a bold statement of his own:
“My dots are connecting for me to be the next Michael Jackson twin,” he wrote. “Meek the realest.”
Swae Lee’s bold claim came shortly after a rocky moment during his Coachella set on opening night. His performance was cut off just as he was about to perform “Black Beatles,” reportedly because he ran out of time.
Addressing the situation on social media, Lee apologized to fans and assured them he’d come back stronger.
“We rocking out next week ! I’m sorry yall,” he wrote.
Despite the abrupt ending, the set still had its highlights. During his performance of “Sunflower,” Swae Lee surprised the crowd by bringing out his son, who appeared onstage dressed as Spider-Man.
Swae Lee also recently appeared on The Way Up with Angela Yee to address backlash he faced after walking back earlier comments about Kamala Harris. During the conversation, he admitted he didn’t vote in the last U.S. presidential election.
“They can’t crucify you for having an opinion,” Lee said. “Everybody got their opinion. You can disagree. It’s cool to disagree. And my eyes can be open just like anybody else’s.”
He also made it clear that he doesn’t support Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again movement.
“I turned down money from MAGA. That’s what they don’t know,” Lee explained. “MAGA was trying to get me to campaign and do all that shit. ‘Come out, Swae, perform,’ after the tweet. They assumed that I was MAGA, too.”
