Kenneth “Lil’ Woody” Copeland, a key figure in the YSL gang case, is now one of four people accused in a major street racing incident in southeast Atlanta.
According to reports, Atlanta police were called out Saturday night to the area of Memorial Drive and Candler Road Southeast, where they found a chaotic scene involving more than 100 vehicles and crowds of pedestrians blocking the streets. Officers say several cars were “laying drag,” fireworks were being launched, and some people appeared to be armed.
WSB-TV identified Copeland as a suspect in the event. He was reportedly arrested in June and is now facing several charges, including reckless stunt driving, laying drags, and driving with a suspended license. He was transferred to Gwinnett County on July 3, though any charges there haven’t been made public yet.
Police also arrested three other individuals—Katelyn Gamboa-Carrillo, Anthony Behena-Aviles, and Emanuel Garcia-Relasco—after stopping a fleeing car. All three face street racing-related charges. Behena-Aviles was also hit with theft by receiving a stolen firearm and felony obstruction, while Garcia-Relasco is facing additional charges for reckless driving and attempting to flee police.
Copeland made headlines after he was granted immunity to testify in Young Thug’s high-profile RICO case—only to repeatedly respond to prosecutors with “I don’t recall.” While Young Thug ultimately took a plea deal and received probation, Copeland walked away with no punishment thanks to his immunity agreement.
