Tensions are rising between Nicki Minaj and SZA after a series of posts on X hinted at some behind-the-scenes drama.
The friction appeared to begin when Nicki fired off a string of tweets targeting Top Dawg Entertainment president, Punch. Not long after, SZA—who is signed to TDE—seemingly clapped back with a cryptic post of her own, sparking speculation that the two artists are now at odds.
“Mercury retrograde .. don’t take the bait lol silly goose,” SZA posted on X Tuesday afternoon, seemingly throwing subtle shade in response to Nicki Minaj’s online jabs.
Nicki Minaj didn’t hold back, firing back with, “Go draw your freckles back on bookie #JusticeForDemoree #DepositionPerez Liar liar pants on fire. Sounding like a fkng dead dog.”
SZA clapped right back with a blunt response: “I don’t give a fuck bout none of that weird shit you popping.”
“Bitch looking & sounding like she got stung by a fucking bee. dot dot dot Draws on my fake freckles,” Nicki Minaj added in another post, keeping the shots coming.
Responding to a fan of Nicki Minaj, SZA clarified that her original tweet wasn’t aimed at anyone specific.
“I wasn’t even talking about or to anyone I had just got off stage talkin bout retrograde. N****S @‘d ME. The FUCK YES IM MAD NOW DO YOU NEED THAT !??” she wrote.
SZA eventually bowed out of the online back-and-forth with Nicki Minaj and her fanbase, posting, “Lmao lemme go back to being calm shy and meek. Yall have blessed night! See you tomorrow for night 2 Paris!!”
Nicki wasn’t done, though. She replied, “Shutup ugly. I’m in a meeting so idk if u was still talking shit or not so if you didn’t I’ll delete later. Hoe.”
“Btch damn near broke that man back & leg. Bitch fat chubby & Skinny @ the same damn time. bitch where are those 30 million streams that disappeared on Spotify like your feaux freckles,” Nicki Minaj continued in another post. “Botting tweets when you arguing is just as weird as sza.”
There’s no confirmed history of prior beef between Minaj and SZA before this fiery exchange.
Interestingly, SZA co-wrote Minaj’s 2014 hit “Feeling Myself” featuring Beyoncé, and is currently on her Grand National Tour alongside Kendrick Lamar. While she hasn’t publicly taken sides in the ongoing Drake vs. Kendrick feud—and still performs her Drake collab “Rich Baby Daddy” on tour—her close ties to Lamar, including their shared Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show moment, may have fueled speculation that she’s Team KDot in Minaj’s eyes.
Earlier that same day, Minaj had already begun aiming tweets at TDE president Punch, setting off the chain of events that spiraled into her clash with SZA.
“lol. Yall remember that man from tde who kept bullying me on Twitter for no reason? We have the receipts. lol. I never even responded to him. What was his name again, yall? Ima give him a nickname. Ima call him ‘Minus 30 million’ from now on,” Nicki Minaj tweeted, taking a direct shot at TDE’s Punch.
“Me after I suck some good zik. Guarantee you wouldn’t fight a man. We have every tweet of your incessant bullying, lying, & more,” Nicki Minaj wrote in another fiery post. “Your name was added to that shit list shitty drawers. Same thing that make you laugh make you… shit.”
“Tiny Dick Executive,” Nicki Minaj added to cap off her string of jabs.
As of now, TDE’s Punch has not responded to any of Minaj’s tweets.
