Pusha T Fires Back at Critics Claiming Clipse Only Rap About One Topic

Pusha T isn’t phased by critics who claim Clipse only rap about one thing.

During a sit-down with Fat Joe and Jadakiss on the Joe & Jada podcast, Pusha and Malice opened up about their new album Let God Sort Em Out. When Fat Joe brought up the common critique that their lyrics revolve solely around cocaine, Pusha offered a cool, confident response.

“Rap has always come from a very real place,” Pusha explained. “With that being said, being in it 23 years, I feel like at this point, I liken it to somebody who loves mob movies.”

“I don’t watch horror, I watch A&E,” Pusha added. “It’s scarier because I believe it. I liken my music to that as well. You can’t please everybody, but 23 years in this, I’m not trying to please nobody but myself.”

Pusha’s known for keeping it real, and he proved it again during a recent chat with Complex News when asked if he liked Drake’s latest track, “What Did I Miss?” His response was brutally honest: “No… Just not for me.”

One person who clearly enjoys Pusha’s unapologetic nature is his brother Malice. In a recent Reddit AMA, when asked about Pusha’s bold moments in interviews and on tracks, Malice simply said, “I let my brother cook. I’m just seeing the same person I have now my entire life, be himself.”

In the same AMA, the Clipse duo also revealed their favorite beats they’ve rapped over—Malice picked “Pussy,” while Pusha went with “Let the Smokers Shine the Coupes.”
