Paul Pierce stirred the pot on a recent episode of Truth After Dark after chiming in on the buzz around French Montana’s rumored romance with Dubai royal, Sheikha Mahra—also known as Xtianna.
The NBA legend’s comments sparked a bit of tension with his podcast co-host as they debated the rapper’s alleged connection to the Dubai princess.
The discussion kicked off around the 22-minute mark of the video, when co-host Azar Farideh brought up the rumored romance, saying, “He’s dating the Princess of Dubai. She’s cracking. He’s publicly out with her. They’re like [an] official couple online, everything. So, he said, ‘Yeah, I’m out of here. I’m out the country.’”
“Man, I’m telling you. Us Black men, we need to take notes from French Montana. You see what he’s doing,” said 47-year-old Paul Pierce. “Women in the States don’t have the same values as those overseas. Over there, they put their man first. They’re not out here shaking ass on Instagram.”
Co-host Azar Farideh wasn’t having it and quickly challenged Pierce’s take. “Not every woman is doing that, Paul,” she said. “I’m not doing that.”
Pierce doubled down, arguing, “There’s more women in America doing that than outside the country.”
Things escalated fast when Farideh accused him of glamorizing foreign women without context: “You give them $30 and they’re sucking you and all your homeboy’s dicks in one night. So stop trying to glorify that, I’m sick of it.”
Pierce clapped back, “I mean, only difference between there and here is the prices up over here.”
Farideh fired again, saying, “Don’t try to say their values are so different. They’re not shaking ass? No, they are. They’re getting shitted on, shaking ass, and doing all types of stuff. So, don’t try it.”
Meanwhile, French Montana, 40, and Dubai Princess Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, 31, were spotted together earlier this month after a Paris Fashion Week event, fueling those relationship rumors.
The pair was first seen together when Sheikha Mahra gave French Montana a personal tour of Dubai—complete with dinners at top restaurants, camel rides, and chill time with friends.
Their connection sparked not long after Mahra announced her divorce, during which she seemed to hint that her ex-husband had been unfaithful.
For those unfamiliar, Mahra is the daughter of UAE Prime Minister and Dubai’s ruler, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
