Kehlani is setting the record straight about the bump on her stomach.
In a recently expired Instagram Story, the 30-year-old singer clarified once again that the visible lump is a hernia—not a tumor. She assured fans that it’s not cancerous, putting an end to the speculation.
Kehlani is once again shutting down the tumor talk, clarifying what’s really going on with her stomach.
“Yes I have a hernia, yes that’s the bulge above my belly button. I gotta go over this once a week, you guys are so concerned. No, it’s not a tumor—that’s my intestine,” she wrote on Instagram, paired with a string of laughing emojis.
Back in 2017, the SweetSexySavage singer had to cancel her European tour to undergo emergency hernia surgery. The condition happens when internal organs push through muscle or tissue, creating a noticeable bulge, according to Cleveland Clinic.
After her recent body transformation, Kehlani also had to shut down claims that she’d undergone ab etching.
“Ab etching is absolutely insane when I literally have posted in the gym every day for the past TWO YEARS—and in the past months with an entire weighted vest on. When did I have time for surgery? I have an umbilical hernia—I can’t even have abdominal surgery please,” she wrote, according to BuzzFeed.
She added in another Instagram Story, “For the record, I also don’t have a problem with people having surgery. I haven’t HAD one in years since removing my breasts, which made me incredibly sick—and I’ve spoken on that publicly. I’ve already had my hernia repaired once and that failed because I’m allergic to mesh. I’ll always speak for myself when words are put into my mouth, especially when they’re twisted to be harmful. Do whatever you want to your bodies as long as it’s safe.”
She ended it with, “[And] a lot of you don’t have the slightest clue about body recomposition or training but imma let y’all cook. — A real gym nerd.”
Kehlani performed at San Diego Pride on Saturday (July 19). However, she was recently dropped from her scheduled sets at NYC’s SummerStage in Central Park and Cornell University following her pro-Palestine stance.
