Drake, Quavo, Nelly and Others Show Love for ‘Magic City’ in New Docuseries Trailer

Drake, Quavo, and Nelly are among the stars featured in the upcoming Starz docuseries Magic City: An American Fantasy — and the trailer’s already heating things up.

As reported by Billboard, the five-part series dives into the rise of Atlanta’s legendary strip club Magic City and its massive influence on hip-hop culture. Executive produced by Drake via DreamCrew Entertainment and Jermaine Dupri, the docuseries peels back the curtain on the club’s legacy and cultural impact.

“It’s one of the wonders of the world,” Drake says in the trailer. “Magic City became this place for people to flourish, Black music to flourish.”

The series also includes appearances from Magic City founder Michael “Mr. Magic” Barney, as well as 2 Chainz, Big Boi, Killer Mike, Shaquille O’Neal, T.I., and more.

The mythos surrounding Magic City includes Shaq signing his $120 million Lakers deal inside the club, Quavo saying, “There wouldn’t be a Migos without Magic City,” and Big Boi realizing Outkast had a hit with “B.O.B” once it got the Magic City stamp of approval.

Magic City: An American Fantasy is a riveting behind-the-curtain look at one of the most unique places in Black culture,” said Starz president of original programming, Kathryn Busby. “The docuseries’ unprecedented insider access and history unveiled from those who built its empire is a perfect complement to STARZ’s slate of adult, culture-driving shows.”

Magic City: An American Fantasy premieres August 15.
