Teyana Taylor Reportedly Ordered to Pay Iman Shumpert $70K Following Contempt of Court Ruling

Teyana Taylor has reportedly been ordered to pay her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert, $70,000 after being found in contempt of court amid their ongoing divorce battle.

Per Us Weekly, the two appeared in court on July 25 after accusing each other of violating the terms of their divorce settlement.

The judge ultimately sided with the former NBA star, who pointed to a March Instagram video in which Taylor addressed rumors about their split.

As part of their divorce settlement, both Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert agreed not to disclose details about the ruling. However, according to the court order, “The court finds [Taylor] in violation of the Final Judgment and Decree of Divorce and is in willful contempt.”

The $70,000 will reportedly go toward covering Shumpert’s legal fees.

When filing his motion for contempt, Shumpert had also sought a $1,000 fine and a 20-day jail sentence for Taylor.

The judge ruled that Taylor failed to provide “sufficient evidence” to support her claim that Shumpert had leaked details of their divorce to the media. The order further stated, “It appears Taylor and her counsel failed to engage in even a minimal amount of diligence to determine whether her claim of contempt had any factual support at all before the petition was filed.”

Taylor, who stars in One Battle After Another, had also asked the court to jail Shumpert but later withdrew that request. The order added that she refused to answer questions from Shumpert about her “assets and her income,” insisting the information was irrelevant.
