Brad Pitt Puts Up for Sale the Los Angeles Home That Was Once Burglarized

Brad Pitt’s Los Angeles home, which was broken into earlier this summer, has officially been sold.

According to TMZ, the 3-bedroom, 2-bath Los Feliz property — famously known as “The Steel House” — is now in escrow through an off-market deal that was already in motion before the burglary. Pitt originally bought the home for $5.5 million from activist and heiress Aileen Getty, who had purchased it back in 2019 from Maroon 5 guitarist James Valentine.

The burglary happened in June while Pitt was away. The LAPD confirmed that four suspects have since been arrested. “Three suspects broke into the residence and fled with unknown property, and then later on, we later determined there were four suspects who were taken into custody,” the department told SFGATE.

This incident is part of a growing wave of celebrity home burglaries in Los Angeles, reportedly tied to South American theft groups engaging in what authorities call “burglary tourism.” In the past year, Nicole Kidman, Anthony Anderson, NFL star Matthew Stafford, and MLB pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto have all been targeted.

Back in February, the FBI announced its crackdown on these groups, stating: “The FBI has spearheaded an initiative targeting South American Theft Groups by combining our nationwide resources and collaborating with our valued law enforcement partners to link commonalities and suspects of cases across the country. While some victims of these brazen crimes happen to be professional athletes with careers in the spotlight, rest assured: the FBI is dedicated to protecting all Americans from violent crime—no matter their job description or zip code.”

Meanwhile, Pitt recently made another real estate move, dropping $12 million on a Los Angeles property from The Killers’ guitarist, Dave Keuning.
