Drake says he’s leaning into his emo side.
During a sit-down with Bobbi Althoff, the rapper took a surprising turn when asked about his thoughts on marriage.
“I really feel like my destiny is to end up with a [funny] goth baddie with just absolute O cups,” Drake said around the 47-minute mark of the interview.
The answer left Althoff visibly shocked, as Drake admitted that finding his ideal match is “tougher than you think.”
“I am, like, the opposite of what they want,” the 38-year-old explained, even revealing that WWE Superstar Rhea Ripley serves as his “muse.”
Althoff pressed Drake on whether his dream partner needed to already be a “goth baddie” or if someone could just switch into that role for him.
“I feel like you have to have some authenticity,” Drake replied.
“So start now if you want to meet him in five years,” Althoff joked.
“Get gothy,” Drake shot back.
“What does that even mean? Like, just wearing all black, having black hair, and dark makeup?” she asked.
At that moment, Drake suddenly broke into an over-the-top emo ballad, channeling the dramatic style of early 2000s bands.
“What are you singing? I feel like I’ve heard that before. Can I Shazam this?” Althoff asked.
“No, I just made that up. But I’m just saying that’s the bag I want to get in,” Drake replied.
Even through the jokes, Drake made it clear he wasn’t picking an unusual type of woman just to dodge the question.
“I want to be, like, seen and I want to be loved by a goth baddie,” he said. “I’m just being real. That’s just what I have in my head. Everyone’s like, ‘Oh, like Drake likes strippers. Drake, like, loves BBLs.’”
The nearly 90-minute interview also touched on everything from rumors about Drake’s abs and BBLs to accusations of being a “culture vulture,” his nine-hour stint in a Swedish jail, and whether he’s wary of returning to L.A. given his feud with Kendrick Lamar.
As for whether his upcoming Iceman album will actually lean into emo vibes—fans will just have to wait and see.
