Aaron Pierre is blasting off into the Star Wars galaxy.
As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the British actor — known for his roles in Netflix’s Rebel Ridge and DC’s upcoming Lanterns — has officially signed on for Star Wars: Starfighter, Lucasfilm’s latest standalone film.
The new Star Wars: Starfighter film is currently shooting in the U.K., with Shawn Levy directing and Ryan Gosling and Amy Adams leading the cast. Aaron Pierre joins a strong lineup that also includes Flynn Gray, Simon Bird, Jamael Westman, and Daniel Ings, while Mia Goth and Matt Smith step in as the villains.
For Pierre, this marks a career milestone. Already gaining attention with roles in Rebel Ridge and DC’s Lanterns, this project catapults him into true blockbuster territory.
Set about five years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the film is being kept tightly under wraps, but its scale makes clear this is no small supporting role. Levy described being invited by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy to expand the saga with an original story as “the thrill of a lifetime.”
At the heart of that story, Gosling is expected to play a protector figure to a young character portrayed by newcomer Flynn Gray, with Adams taking on the role of his mother.
Pierre’s exact role remains secret, but his placement in the main ensemble hints that Lucasfilm sees him as a major player in the franchise’s future.
With Starfighter set to premiere on May 28, 2027, Pierre is on track to make the jump from breakout star to global name in a galaxy far, far away.
