Lolita Callender, popularly known as Lola Doll, is in “critical condition” after being shot by a motorcycle-riding gunman in Guyana, according to police.
In a statement posted to Facebook, the Guyana Police Force confirmed it was probing “an alleged incident of discharging a loaded firearm committed on” Lola outside her Texas Square residence on Saturday, Sept. 6.
“She is presently receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital, where she remains in critical condition, having sustained gunshot wounds to her neck, face, hands, and right leg,” police said. Investigators added that “preliminary information” shows the influencer and artist was sitting in her car when the attack occurred, carried out by “a male on a motorcycle.”
In the same update, police confirmed they were reviewing CCTV footage and urged possible witnesses to come forward. Shortly after, authorities named Paul Daby Jr., also known as “Randell,” as wanted in connection with Saturday’s shooting.
Complex has contacted the Guyana Police Force for further comment. This story may be updated.
Following news of the attack, fans flooded Lola’s social media pages with prayers and well-wishes for her recovery.
Just last month, Lola dropped a video for her track “Succeed,” directed by The Knemesis. Earlier this year, she also released visuals for “Snatched,” “Come Downstairs,” “It Pinching,” and “Cement Body.”
Police have confirmed that the investigation into the shooting is still “ongoing.”
