When Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement in late August, the internet went wild, sparking endless reactions and hot takes.
One of the latest to chime in is comedian Nikki Glaser, who shared her perspective with Entertainment Tonight at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards. Glaser joked that the couple’s engagement could actually “ruin relationships”—though not in the way people might expect.
“I’m not one to say I saw it coming, but it’s just very obvious to me that this was going to be lasting forever,” Glaser said.
Glaser explained that after watching a recent episode of the New Heights podcast, she could clearly see the deep bond between Swift and Kelce, calling him “the kind of guy that you want your best friend to be with.”
“He’s obsessed with her, and that’s what every girl deserves, and every guy deserves,” Glaser said, adding that it’s obvious the two “worship” each other.
“I think it’s gonna ruin some relationships, to be honest,” she continued, suggesting the engagement might push women to reevaluate their own partners.
“Because I think a lot of people watched that and were like, ‘I deserve that. I deserve that type of enthusiasm, and I deserve that kind of person who celebrates me in that way.’ I think there’s a lot of people watching it like, ‘Maybe I deserve better.'”
As of now, Swift and Kelce haven’t revealed any details about their upcoming wedding, including the date or location.
