Dallas artist 4Batz recently sat down with Billboard to reflect on his career, including his collaboration with Ye (formerly Kanye West) on the remix of “act iii: on god? (she like)” from his debut mixtape U Made Me a St4r. In the interview, 4Batz didn’t hold back, calling Ye the “smartest person” he’s ever met and a “genius.”
Meeting a Legend
While discussing their time working together, 4Batz recalled their first meeting in a warehouse studio. “He was giving people directions about clothes and stuff while we were recording. It was just the craziest thing,” 4Batz said.
The experience wasn’t just about music. 4Batz recounted a memorable two-hour car ride with Ye and his wife, Bianca Censori, in a Tesla Cybertruck. “I was just like, ‘Huh? I’m really in the car with Kanye West,’” he shared, marveling at the surreal moment.
During the ride, Ye played his track Vultures and captured 4Batz’s reaction on video. “He started playing it. I’m like, ‘Okay. Oh, I like this.’ Then he pulled out his phone to record me,” 4Batz said. “I was trying to be cool, but he showed he doesn’t care about appearances. He’s an honest person. He never lies.”
Vultures and Chart Success
While 4Batz didn’t specify whether Ye was playing a track from Vultures 1 or Vultures 2, both albums were major hits, debuting in the top five of the Billboard 200 this year.
4Batz’s Latest Move
Beyond collaborations with Ye, 4Batz continues to make waves with his latest release, “Hood Grammy”, which is gaining traction among fans and critics alike.
Why This Matters
The collaboration highlights Ye’s ongoing influence in shaping rising artists and 4Batz’s growth as a versatile talent. With stories like these, it’s clear the creative synergy between artists like Ye and 4Batz is a driving force in modern music.
