On a recent episode of the Brilliant Idiots podcast with Andrew Schulz and Charlamagne Tha God, rapper and Drink Champs host N.O.R.E. shared a hilarious story about Kodak Black bringing his own food to one of Miami’s fanciest steakhouses.
Around the 1:49:30 mark, N.O.R.E. was reflecting on rappers with big personalities when Kodak’s name came up. “I got critique for Kodak Black… Let me tell you something, Kodak Black. I’ll accept you back any day of the week. I love Kodak Black,” he began, before diving into the story.
“I went to Prime 112 with Kevin Liles and Mike Kyser. Kodak Black walked—this is a prestigious establishment—he walked in there with his own food,” N.O.R.E. recalled, admitting he’d never seen anything like it. “He had a Haitian plate. I looked and I was like, ‘This is either the most disrespectful or the most flyest shit I’ve ever saw.’ … I asked him, ‘Yo Kodak, you’re not going to eat in Prime 112?’ He said, ‘This my mama food. My mama food way better than this shit.’”
Charlamagne then pressed on why Kodak even showed up if he wasn’t going to eat. N.O.R.E. laughed it off, replying, “‘Cause he’s a gangster. We have to protect Kodak Black. The same way we had signs to protect DMX… I don’t mean like be worried about him. I’m saying the culture has to stand behind him. This is a different individual, right?”
He doubled down on his respect for Kodak, calling him a “real one” and praising the way he looks out for his team and community. “They love him there. I know him and I know who he is, but I also know how great he can actually be,” N.O.R.E. added.
The funny moment comes just after fans raised concerns for Kodak when a clip surfaced of him drinking from a cup many assumed contained lean. His attorney later shut down the speculation, confirming it was nothing more than juice.
