For Cardi B’s first appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the crew gave her a grand entrance inspired by her breakout smash “Bodak Yellow.”
On Monday (Sept. 15), the daytime talk show dropped footage from her Sept. 2 guest spot, showing the staff performing their own spin on Cardi’s hit as she walked through the spirit tunnel.
“At the happy place, she’s a superstar/Number-one, she’s got all the hits/Run go hella hard,” they rapped in unison, hyping up the Grammy winner.
The playful remix continued with even more love for Cardi: “If you see her, make sure you speak/Because she’s who you wanna be.”
The warm welcome set the tone for Cardi’s lively debut on Hudson’s stage.
The clip wrapped with Cardi bursting with excitement before heading out to join Jennifer Hudson onstage.
The Bronx star kept the energy high during the sit-down too, breaking into Hudson’s hit “Spotlight” right alongside the powerhouse singer and host, turning the moment into a mini duet.
The Jennifer Hudson Show has become known for its spirit tunnel entrances that frequently go viral, with stars like SZA, Big Sean, and even Aaron Pierre getting the treatment in past episodes.
Cardi’s lively appearance comes right in the middle of her rollout for the long-awaited sophomore album Am I the Drama?. She’s been pushing the project with a pop-up event, a string of interviews, and is gearing up for a six-date meet-and-greet tour. The “Outside” rapper has also leaned into her comedic side, dropping skits where she jokes about being close to not recouping with Atlantic Records and desperately needing cash.
