The dismembered body discovered in the front trunk of a Tesla registered to singer D4vd has reportedly been identified as that of a girl between 14 and 15 years old, according to law enforcement sources who spoke with ABC News. NBC 4 also confirmed the age range after citing forensic results.
TMZ first broke the story, later confirmed by Complex, with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirming the body’s identity but withholding the name until family members are notified.
Per ABC News, a next of kin has yet to be found, and the cause of death remains undetermined. Rolling Stone added that the remains were discovered on September 8 inside a 2023 Tesla Model Y registered to D4vd, born David Anthony Burke. The vehicle was sitting in a Hollywood Hills tow yard after being impounded, and suspicions were raised when a foul odor began seeping from the trunk.
“She appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found. We are unable to determine her age or race/ethnicity,” the medical examiner previously stated.
D4vd, born David Anthony Burke, is 20 and has not yet spoken publicly about the case. His spokesperson confirmed the artist is working with investigators: “D4vd has been informed about what’s happened. And, although he is still out on tour, he is fully cooperating with the authorities,” the rep told NBC 4.
The singer is currently on his Withered World Tour, which is scheduled to conclude in Los Angeles on Sept. 20 before heading to Europe on Oct. 1.
