Steve Harvey says Lori Harvey’s exes automatically make his list too.
The 68-year-old comedian and TV host opened up about his 28-year-old daughter’s very public dating history during Tuesday’s episode of The Pivot podcast.
Around the 55-minute mark, Steve admitted that watching her navigate relationships in the spotlight hasn’t been easy.
“It’s hard, man. I ain’t gonna lie, it’s hard. I’ve had to swallow some things, you know? And I feel for her because she’s in the public,” he shared, before highlighting her success as a brand ambassador and influencer.

Around the 55-minute mark, Steve admitted watching Lori date under the spotlight has been tough. He said he’s had to swallow a lot and feels for her, especially given her role as a brand ambassador and influencer.
However, he made it clear that once Lori moves on, he does too — no second chances for her old flames. “See, I gotta be real careful cause Lori, boy, she be in my ass. I can’t make no mistakes. … I saw one of [her] exes somewhere at a game somewhere and I shook his hand. Well, I can’t even touch his ass no more. I better not acknowledge him or look at him or nothing no more. So I’m off limits,” he said. “If you a ex, your ass is my ex too. The rule in our house is: any boy that’s an ex, he’s now my ex too. I must hate him like we was dating.”
Elsewhere on the podcast, Steve spoke about his duty as protector and role model for his children, saying how he treats their mother sets the example of love they watch and learn from.
“As their father, I’m their protector. I’m their example of what love looks like towards their mother. So how I treat their mother is very important because they looking at it and they see it. So, that’s why I always try to be a great example for them.”
He also said every guy who ever dated one of his daughters got a clear warning: “If you put your hand on her, I will find you. And I am going to do some things to you that’s going to be ungodly.”
Steve even recalled Lori’s junior prom when she was 15, confessing he felt “nothing but pure hatred” for the 16-year-old escort. After insisting the boy bring Lori home by 10:30 p.m., the teen tried to explain there was an afterparty planned for 11 p.m. upstairs at the hotel.
“Boy, there’s no chance of me OKing no stuff like this,” Steve remembered telling him before laying down another rule: “I said, ‘Just know this, whatever you do to her, I’m gonna do to you.’ I said, ‘So if I look outside and y’all kissing real hard, when you come in here, me and you gonna kiss real hard.’”
Steve Harvey is a father of seven. People reports he shares twins Brandi and Karli, 40, and son Broderick Jr., 31, with his first wife, Marcia. He and his second wife, Mary, have a son, Wynton, 28. After marrying Marjorie in 2007, he adopted three more children: Morgan, 40, Jason, 31, and Lori, 28.
