Mass Shooting Suspect Sues Kellie Pickler, Claims She Tried to Poison Him

The North Carolina mass shooting suspect tied to a deadly restaurant attack once filed a shocking lawsuit accusing country singer Kellie Pickler of trying to poison him.

Nigel Edge—who legally tried to change his name from Sean DeBevoise earlier this year—claimed in February that Pickler handed him a poisoned glass of Jim Beam whiskey when they attended the CMT Music Awards together in 2012. He alleged he survived only because he didn’t drink it.

The presiding judge quickly shut the case down, writing that Edge’s “factual allegations are so delusional that they are simply unbelievable.”

Edge is now the prime suspect in the American Fish Company restaurant shooting at Southport Yacht Basin, where he allegedly opened fire with a short-barrel AR rifle outfitted with a suppressor, folding stock, and scope. The attack killed three and injured eight more.

He currently faces three counts of first-degree murder, five counts of attempted first-degree murder, and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon. Authorities have not yet revealed a motive.

The lawsuit against Pickler is only one of several bizarre filings Edge has made this year. In April, he accused the U.S. government, military, and police of conspiring with Jeffrey Epstein, 9/11 terrorists, and those behind the Abu Ghraib scandal—claiming he was trafficked, tortured, and used as a “ghost detainee” in Iraq.

In May, he turned his attention to Generations Church in Southport, alleging a plot involving the LGBTQ community and white supremacists, whom he labeled as pedophiles, to have him killed for being heterosexual.

Just months earlier, in January, Edge sued Brunswick Medical Center, spinning a similar conspiracy theory about “LGBTQ White Supremacists” who allegedly targeted him after an Iraq incident. Both the January and May lawsuits were dismissed with prejudice.

Edge remains behind bars at the Brunswick County Detention Center without bond.
