Curtains up indeed!
Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, has officially landed.
The 12-track project was confirmed during her Guinness World Record appearance on fiancé Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast, where she also revealed the album cover and release date.
Swift shared that much of the album came together during the European stretch of The Eras Tour.
“I would be playing shows. I’d do, like, three shows in a row. I’d have three days off,” she explained. “I’d fly to Sweden, go back to the tour, and actually, like, working on this: I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating.”
“Literally living the life of a showgirl,” Travis joked—prompting Taylor to laugh and say, “I was. That’s why I called it that. Nailed it.”
Sabrina Carpenter, who joined Taylor for select dates on The Eras Tour, is the sole feature on The Life of a Showgirl.
Swift also kicked off a new chapter in her personal life back in late August, announcing her engagement to Travis Kelce after two years of dating. Their joint post captured the moment with a playful caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Riding the momentum of 2023’s record-breaking Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film, Swift is bringing her latest project to the big screen.
To celebrate the release of The Life of a Showgirl, she’s launching The Official Release Party of a Showgirl at AMC Theaters, running Oct. 3–5.
The 89-minute event will feature the world premiere of the “The Fate of Ophelia” music video, along with behind-the-scenes footage from its shoot, fresh lyric videos, and exclusive personal reflections from Taylor on the songs that make up her 12th studio album.
