MrBeast Shares Video Message Recorded at 17: ‘Hi, Me in Ten Years’

MrBeast just dropped a video he recorded back in 2015, addressing his future self and hoping he’d have at least a million subscribers by now.

In the three-minute clip, a 17-year-old MrBeast—long before becoming one of YouTube’s biggest creators—scheduled the video to upload in 2025, wondering what his life would look like a decade later.

“Hi, me in ten years,” he begins, before joking, “Dude, what if I’m dead? That’d be so weird. RIP.”

“Dude, if I don’t have a million subscribers when you see this video, my entire life has been a failure,” the teenage MrBeast says in the clip. “I hope I have a million subs.”

He goes on to wonder what his life will look like after college and whether he’ll still be making videos. “I’ll probably be doing YouTube as a full-time job,” he predicts.

The video appears to be completely authentic—at one point, the 2015 MrBeast turns his camera toward his screen to prove the year, showing 8,726 subscribers and a total of 1,830,631 views.

A decade later, it’s safe to say he far exceeded his own expectations. As of now, MrBeast boasts a massive 443 million subscribers on YouTube, a net worth estimated at around $1 billion, and recognition from Time magazine as one of the most influential creators in the world thanks to his videos, game shows, and business ventures.

Still, being one of the internet’s biggest stars comes with its share of controversy. His recent video, “Would You Risk Dying For $500,000,” sparked backlash from viewers who criticized the seemingly extreme challenges he put a stuntman through.

In the clip, the stuntman faces seven intense obstacles — including a flaming course and a 50-foot free climb — while tethered to a friend. After fans flooded the comments with safety concerns, MrBeast took to X to clarify that everything was carefully planned.

“If you’re curious obviously we had ventilation for the smoke and a kill switch to cut off the fires,” he wrote. “We had professionals test this extensively and the guy in the video as stated is a professional stunt man. I take safety more serious than you could ever imagine.”
