Bernice Burgos Says She Keeps Her Love Life Private After Retiring From the Video Vixen Spotlight

Bernice Burgos has long been familiar with fame. She first rose to prominence during the height of the hip-hop video vixen era before turning her bartending gig at Starlets in Queens, NY, into a global sensation.

Men flew in from places as far as Africa and France just to see her behind the bar, cementing her status as one of the most recognizable and talked-about women in the industry.

With 7.2 million Instagram followers and an ever-expanding brand, Bernice Burgos isn’t seeking the spotlight anymore—she’s guarding her peace.

During her appearance on The Ish Podcast on Friday, October 3, Burgos explained why her relationships will never play out online. “I’m not going to sit here and say I’m in a relationship or not. I’m not. That’s none of your business,” she stated.

It’s not that she’s never shared before. Burgos admitted she once posted glimpses of her love life—Valentine’s gifts, jewelry, birthday surprises—but quickly learned it only brought problems.

“What I’m doing, I’m putting it out there for another woman to want my man. For what?” she said. “I’m not going to give my man to the streets. Not doing that.”

That realization came from experience. Being in the mix of the hip-hop scene—bartending, hosting, modeling—meant her life was constantly under scrutiny. The video vixen era was built on visibility, and Burgos became a defining figure of the look rappers wanted in their videos and fans admired online.

With fame came gossip, rumors, and as she put it, “more girls and more girls” trying to get close to whoever she was dating.

Now, Burgos is all about control. She knows people are curious, but she’s learned to draw her boundaries. “I give you a little bit of what I want to give y’all. That’s it. The privacy is privacy,” she said.

Unlike many influencers and celebrities who turn their personal lives into content, Burgos refuses to. She’s witnessed the consequences of oversharing and has no plans to repeat that mistake.

Fans can still catch her cooking, hitting the gym, or promoting her Bold and Beautiful brand—but that’s where the access ends. “Y’all don’t need to see my man. Y’all don’t need nothing,” she said firmly.

Even though she’s stepped back from the video vixen spotlight, Burgos remains a major force in pop culture—still commanding massive engagement, moving products, and shaping beauty trends across social media. But she’s now proving that true power sometimes comes from keeping things private.

“Keep on thinking I’m dating, I’m not,” she laughed. “Listen, y’all see me on my Snapchat, in my bed, eating my food. That’s what you’re going to get. Nothing else.”
