RAYE is officially back on track. After pausing her album plans when her car and songwriting notebooks were stolen, the “Escapism” star has revealed that everything’s been recovered.
Back in October 2024—on her 27th birthday—RAYE shared on Instagram that her car had been stolen, along with journals filled with lyrics for unreleased songs. At the time, she told fans there would be “no second album any time soon.” But in a new interview with Capital FM on Monday, October 27, she revealed that the stolen car had finally been found.
“So it was a rollercoaster journey,” she recalled. “But what I didn’t tell everyone is that the police called me, maybe like two or three months ago, and they were like, ‘We found your car.’”
To her relief, RAYE discovered that everything inside—including her precious songwriting books—was still there. “And I got it back,” she said. “And not only did I get it back, not one thing had been taken out of the car and all my songwriting books were there untouched.”
Although fans are thrilled about the news, it looks like they’ll still have to wait a bit for her next project. RAYE confirmed that her new album remains “unfinished,” despite announcing her This Tour May Contain New Music world tour in September.
She also shared that she plans to spend her 28th birthday in the studio, diving back into creating new music.
“A bit of a loner these days but I don’t mind it at all,” she shared on Instagram. “I’m writing a lot. Can’t wait to show you this music, just need to finish it all first.”
If her latest single, “Where is My Husband!,” is anything to go by, fans can look forward to more playful, relatable hits in this next chapter.
