Samuel L. Jackson shares how his wife, Latanya, once made 2Pac apologize for cursing on the set of “Juice.”

Samuel L. Jackson says Tupac “2Pac” Shakur was a “nice enough kid,” but there was a moment when his wife, LaTanya Richardson, had to straighten the late rapper out.

During his Tuesday (November 17) appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, the new Tulsa King star looked back on his interactions with 2Pac. Around the five-minute mark of the clip below, Jackson explained that he had met the All Eyez on Me star a few times before they were set to co-star in the 1993 hood classic Menace II Society. However, 2Pac was later removed from the film after assaulting one of the directors, Allen Hughes.

“When I talked to him, he was always cool. But there was this one moment while we were filming Juice,” Jackson went on. Both he and 2Pac were part of the 1992 crime thriller, along with Jackson’s wife, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, who played the mother of Steel (Jermaine Hopkins).

“So all the mothers were in a room, and 2Pac walked in cussing someone out—yelling, going off,” Jackson said. “And my wife grabbed him and said, ‘Hey, don’t you see all these grown women? You can’t be talking like that and using that kind of language.’”

Even though everyone around was stunned that Mrs. Jackson checked 2Pac like that, Samuel says the late rapper “totally apologized.”

“And from then on, anytime he saw my wife, he’d say, ‘Hey, mom. How you doing?’” Jackson added.

The moment made Kimmel laugh, noting the irony since Jackson is famous for unleashing endless expletives in his films. Jackson replied, “Only in a room full of grown women,” joking that when he’s at home, he can curse all he wants.

Samuel L. Jackson and LaTanya, who share a daughter, Zoe, 42, marked their 45th wedding anniversary in August.
