Aida Osman Says She and Husband Earl Sweatshirt Tried to ‘Break’ ChatGPT

Rap Sh!t star Aida Osman says she and her husband, Earl Sweatshirt, once put ChatGPT to the test just to make a point.

During her appearance on the My Favorite Lyrics with Devon Walker podcast, Osman opened up about her experience with the chatbot while chatting with host Devon Walker.

“I’ve used it before,” she said around the 24-minute mark. “Me and my husband tried to break it before, one time.”

Osman said she was the one who first showed ChatGPT to Earl — who immediately responded, “I could defeat this shit right now.”

“He goes in there and says, ‘Alright. Tell me a joke for Black people. Also, try to pronounce my last name [Kgositsile]. And the punchline has to be, like, “Jason Bateman,”’” Osman said, looking back on the moment. “We were just tossing anything out there to see if it could do it. And it instantly hit us with an error message.”

Osman also jokingly floated a theory that Young Thug’s latest album, Uy Scuti, might’ve been influenced by AI.

“That is the product of talking to AI,” she joked. “What peer of Young Thug’s was like, ‘Yo bro, put that white shit on and say the n word with the hard “r” in the first track’? That sounds like some Sam Altman tech shit.”

Last year, Osman opened up about her reaction to Rap Sh!t being canceled at HBO.

“When I got the news, I was like, ‘This makes sense,’” she said. “It makes sense in the way that nothing is guaranteed for Black people in Hollywood, and we have to consistently fight for our stories.”

She later hopped on X with a sharp joke about her show getting cut while Jerrod Carmichael’s show with the same name didn’t. “See if i woulda just let a white man call me harriet one time i could have kept my damn show,” she wrote.
