Nick Cannon revealed there was a period in his life when the idea of having an overly sexually adventurous wife or long-term partner didn’t appeal to him.
On the Wednesday (November 26) episode of his podcast Nick Cannon @ Night, the host dove into the topic of sex in long-term relationships — especially threesomes. Cannon, who was married to Mariah Carey from 2008 to 2016, shared that he once had no interest in doing “super freaky stuff” with a “wife or life partner.”
“Because now I’m judging your ass,” Cannon said (around the 20-minute mark), noting that this used to be his mindset. “I’m in therapy now, but I can be honest enough to say I didn’t want my wife to be a freak. I didn’t want to do threesomes with my wife.”
Cannon went on to admit he once had a “Madonna-whore complex,” a mindset where a woman is seen as either pure and respectable or overly sexual and undeserving of the same respect.
“Like, no, I want my wife to be my wife and I can get the threesomes elsewhere,” he said, noting that “men grow out of that stage.”
“I don’t think men always desire threesomes and the streets,” Cannon added. “But even in that sense, I think everybody matures and probably wants a little slower lifestyle.”
Cannon — who shares 12 children with multiple women — has also opened up on his podcast about his extensive “body count,” admitting he doesn’t actually know how many women he’s been with.
“We joke, we have fun… But I think a person’s history is important. I wanna know everything. I don’t need to know the exact number. I lost count a long time ago,” he said on a July episode. “But I would like to know a little bit. At least from college forward.”
