Iggy Azalea Says She’s Done With Music for Good: ‘I Don’t Want to Come Back’

Iggy Azalea is standing firm on her decision: she’s officially done with rapping.

The former rapper, now fully focused on her cryptocurrency ventures, doubled down on Instagram, making it clear she has zero plans to return to the music scene. On Friday (November 28), the “Fancy” star shared a stunning selfie, which led one follower to ask, “Did you [sign] the record deal or nah?”

“Fuck no,” Iggy replied. “But I did consider signing, for weeks. I’m very sure I don’t want to come back to the music industry.”

Throughout her rap run — which, according to Kool Keith, started with her being mentored by the late Tim Dog — Iggy dropped three albums, with her most recent being The End of An Era in 2021.

Earlier this year, the 35-year-old claimed that Universal Music Group (UMG) owed her “millions of dollars in back pay” from international royalties, per Billboard.

After posting on X that the label “technically stole” from her, Iggy added, “The amount owed is in the 8-figure range.”

In August, she appeared on ABC News and reflected on being labeled an “industry plant,” comparing her rap journey to maneuvering through a “battlefield.”

“I was stepping on landmines left and right, and I just couldn’t survive it. It’s not survivable,” she said.

She continued, “There are also some things that I walked right into and deserve, or things that I could have done better, but I can’t sit here all day long boohooing about that. It’s just part of life.”
