Ray J was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Las Vegas on Tuesday (Jan. 6) after experiencing pneumonia and chest-related pain, according to TMZ.
A source told the outlet that the singer underwent X-rays and an echocardiogram, though no additional details about his condition were available at the time of publication.
The update comes four years after Ray J faced a serious health scare. In 2021, the 44-year-old battled pneumonia that was severe enough to raise fears it could turn fatal.
At the time, doctors in Miami reportedly placed the “What I Need” singer on oxygen and prescribed the use of an inhaler. He later made a full recovery, and the illness was said not to be connected to COVID-19 despite happening during the pandemic.
In recent months, Ray J has also been dealing with several legal issues. He was arrested in November following a Thanksgiving Twitch livestream that spiraled out of control. During the incident, the R&B artist accused Princess Love of being “drunk” and attempting to take their two children from his home.
Ray J allegedly pulled out a gun and threatened to “shoot” Princess Love.
“I’ll kill you… Get the fuck out of here, you in my house,” he was heard yelling while seemingly hiding from the livestream camera. “I’ll shoot the fuck out of you.”
After the arrest, Ray J revealed in December that he planned to hitchhike from Tampa, Florida, to Los Angeles for a show concept he dubbed Celebrity Hitchhiker. He said he expected to return to California by Christmas.
